PERSONAL LIFE: At the beginning of The LEGO Movie, we're introduced to Emmet through his morning routine. The routine shows us glimpses of what the character enjoys and does. Emmet dedicated himself to following the instructions created by the company in control of his city, Bricksburg. He makes sure to treat everyone and everything he encounters kindly, even going so far as to greet everything in his apartment with a friendly "good morning!" He enjoys everything designated as "popular", including "popular music" and "any chain restaurant". Emmet almost never complains, even when confronted with somewhat ludicrous situations.
PROFESSIONAL LIFE: Emmet worked as a construction worker, who specialise in destruction of LEGO buildings, and using large instruction booklets to rebuild the world around them. Emmet's shown not to have had too big of an impact on his coworkers, many of which forgetting who he is. He's shown to be a keen rule follower, and is always happy to help with any demand those around him in the workplace.
PRIVATE LIFE: Emmet is never shown to keep anything private, be it thoughts, facts about himself, etc. It's never shown, or even implied, that Emmet ever had any emotions beside contentment for his life. However, as The LEGO Movie progresses, we discover that he develops feelings for Wyldstyle, and eventually comes out with his feelings in a more tense moment between the two.
